What is 3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran?
3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran is extracted from Urtica Diodica, or more commonly referred as stinging nettle root. 3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran
is typically called stinging nettle, because chemicals in the hairs or
spines on the leaves and stems cause skin irritation and pain when
touched. It has many other names, such as nettle root extract,
Stinging Nettle Extract, Urtica Dioica root.
3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran is a competitive inhibitor and therefore
competes with testosterone at the binding site. Since
3,4-D is also a more potent ligand for the SHBG binding site it binds
stronger and for a longer amount of time, increasing the likelihood that
it will become bound and prevent a testosterone molecule from becoming
bound.
Another
paradoxical process of interest in relation to 3,4-D is that in
response to increasing levels of testosterone SHBG levels are actually
decreased causing a positive feedback loop that leads to a greater
percentage of inhibition given the same dosage.
How does 3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran work?
3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran
primarily works by attaching to the sex hormone-binding globulin
(SHBG). What SHBG does is bind to your sex hormones; mostly testosterone
and estradiol. So the basic function of SHBG is to regulate the amount
of biologically active hormones in your body. The reasons for this are
unclear, however I'm guessing it is because your body loves equilibrium.
Anyways, now that we know what SHBG is we can understand how
3,4-Divanillytetrahydrofuran works. It attaches to SHBG thus rendering
it inactive so it is then unable to bind to your sex hormones. This in
theory will allow your free testosterone and estradiol to rise, and we
know higher testosterone promotes muscle growth.
Benefits of taking 3,4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran supplements
Using a supplement which contains 3 4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran
can have a significant impact on your progress as an athlete,
potentially improving your physique. This ingredient is in fact a
natural nettle root extract, which is found in China. Discover how 3,
4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran accelerate your progress, the pitfalls of
this plant extract and how it works.
1. increase free testosterone
The
key benefit of 3 4-divanillyltetrahydrofuran is the fact that it can
increase your ‘free testosterone’ levels. As a result you have the
potential to be a lot more anabolic. As you may know, this means that
you are able to assimilate much more protein throughout the day due to
an increase in your protein synthesis levels. As a result, you can
expect to gain extra muscle mass, increase your strength levels and even
lose body fat.
2. Achieve larger muscle mass and strength
3,4-Divanillyltetrahydrofuran
is a very popular ingredient in bodybuilding supplements because of its
ability to keep testosterone flowing freely through the body. Since
testosterone is concentrated in the muscle tissue,
3,4-Divanillyltetrahydrofuran helps to increase the free flowing
beneficial testosterone, which means an increase in lean muscle mass.
As a
potent testosterone booster, 3,4-Divanillyltetrahydrofuran also
performs other functions that could be helpful to bodybuilders. One
journal found that 3,4-Divanillyltetrahydrofuran did have glucose
lowering abilities, or that it is anti-hyperglycemic. Additionally,
another journal stated that the glucose lowering abilities came from it
causing increased insulin secretion in the Langerhance Isletes (these
are the cells that produce hormones in the pancreas). This research
seems to indicate that stinging nettle could be used manipulate insulin
as well.
